Bridget Jones Tour Review

Hey guys! So I am going to be reviewing the Bridget Jones tour that I went on around London last month. A bit of background to this blog post, for anyone that knows me will understand how much of a Bridget Jones fan myself and my mum are. We absolutely love all three of the films, so my boyfriend kindly for Christmas booked for us to go on this Bridget Jones tour which I didn’t even realise this tour existed. I am going to be talking about some of the locations that we went to where the film crew had filmed certain scenes down streets or in traditional buildings. I will also be talking about how I found the tour and if I would put it down as a recommendation.

Our tour guide was called David, he was a lovely welsh guy who had a great sense of humour. There was a lot more walking than I had anticipated but the tour guide still kept the tour very interactive and interesting. The meeting point was outside the Temple tube station entrance at around 2pm. I believe these Bridget Jones tours only take place every Friday so bare that in mind if you work or are a student as you may need to book time off. These tours also only go ahead at certain seasons of the year, so they don’t run during the winter months from what I remember.

So the above two photos shows a street close by to temple tube station however, it isn’t just any normal street. This is the street where the scenes were filmed of Bridget Jones on her way to tell Mark Darcy that she is pregnant as you may remember happened in the most recent one which was the third film. As you can see the street is rather traditional but yet very ideal for a film location. An interesting fact I had found out from this tour, this street is actually full of many offices for lawyers who take on specific court cases.

This film location was one of my favourites! This was the film location from the third film where the funeral of Daniel Cleaver (Bridget’s former lover) was held. From the film you don’t really get to appreciate the design of the church because it’s quite an unusual scene but from this photo, you really get to understand why the directors had chosen this church as a film location.

Now I’m pretty sure any Bridget Jones fans will know exactly who’s front door this is. Yes that’s right, it’s Bridget’s! This classic front door had pretty much appeared in all three films and was located in Borough Market. The door in the photo is so identical to the front door from the film which shows that the film crew didn’t alter the design of the door too much and kept it original as possible which I think is so lovely.

Those are just some of the many film locations I had visited, the tour itself I thoroughly enjoyed and I would highly recommend to anyone who has an interest in these films. As I said at the beginning of this blog post, there is a lot of walking around central London so do bare that in mind. But overall a fantastic tour that keeps you interested throughout each different location.
